In New Jersey, real estate agents are required to disclose to you, at the very beginning, how they intend to work with you as a Home Buyer.  There are 4 types of business relationships that they are permitted to engage in in New Jersey.

Seller’s Agent

works only for the seller.

Buyer’s Agent

works only for the buyer.

Disclosed Dual Agent

works for both the buyer and seller and can not favor either.

Transaction Broker 

works with a buyer or a seller or both without  representing anyone and can not promote interests of one party over the other. 

Of the 4 options above, only 1 allows a real estate agent to represent a Home Buyer's best interests and that is as a "Buyer Agent".  At BUYER'S ADVISORS, we work with home buyers everyday in the Northern New Jersey counties of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, and Union as their "exclusive buyer's agent".
