School Resources

PUBLIC SCHOOLS REPORTS

There is no official rating or ranking (1...2....3) of New Jersey schools.
However, the State does mandate three very basic tests in all schools - in grades 4 (ESPA), 8 (GEPA) and 11 (HSPT, High School Proficiency Test).

New Jersey law mandates that a New Jersey Report Card be prepared for every school in the state.

The Department of Education includes data in the report card to provide as much information as possible to enable parents and community members to make judgments about the effectiveness of their schools.

The New Jersey Department of Education's School Report Cards provide information on school scores for these tests, education of teachers, SAT scores in high schools, etc.

For related school information, you can also look at:

The NJ Department of Education recognizes schools in its Best Practices/Star Schools program.

NJ Department of Education also offers this overview, for parents, of public education in New Jersey.

New Jersey Monthly Magazine
ranks what they consider are the top high schools in their "Towns and Schools" section.
