Can you provide references?

The very best reference we can give a Home Buyer is our recognition in New Jersey Monthly Magazine's Annual Five Star Rating where we consistently rank among the Top 2% of Realtors in New Jersey.

BUYER'S ADVISORS has been recognized as "FIVE STAR" Real Estate Agents every year since 2011 in an independent ranking of  New Jersey's Top Realtors based on Consumer Research. This record is shared with less than 100 Realtors in New Jersey.

Five Star Professional works with New Jersey Monthly Magazine each year to conduct research to identify New Jersey real estate agents who satisfy objective criteria that are associated with providing quality services to their clients.  Award candidates are identified through nominations received from consumers. Those selected receive the Five Star Real Estate Agent award.

Each year a survey is provided to:

  1. all New Jersey residents who purchased a home over $150,000 within an 8-month period,
  2. over 1,000 subscribers of New Jersey Monthly Magazine, and
  3. over 250 mortgage and title companies.

Survey respondents are asked to evaluate real estate agents they know through personal experience and to evaluate them based on 9 criteria.  Both negative and positive evaluations are included in the scoring.

All qualifying real estate agents are screened with the New Jersey Real Estate Commission's database to verify that licenses are current with no disciplinary actions pending.

Finally, a panel of local real estate company executives, professional and trade association officers review the final list.

Less than one percent of the 80,700 New Jersey Realtors are selected each year.

Fewer than 100 agents in New Jersey have been selected every year since 2011, as have both BUYER'S ADVISORS Brokers.

Why BUYER'S ADVISORS does not provide personal references?

  1. We do not believe a prospective client is well served by accepting references supplied by a Real Estate Agent.  No agent provides negative or critical personal references.  As a result, a prospective client is only getting the references the Real Estate Agent wants them to see.
  2. In the past, we did provide personal references.  However, our own clients told us that they received detailed checklists from potential clients requesting information which our past clients felt was unreasonable to complete.  They also had privacy concerns with supplying their phone numbers and/or email addresses to people they and we did not know.  As a result, we agreed with our clients that we would not divulge their private information.

We, also, caution prospective clients from relying on so-called internet "testimonials" and "reviews".  In our experience, many of these are ghost written by the Real Estate Agents being recommended.  In many cases, we have seen similarly worded "testimonials" and/or "reviews" that Real Estate Agents have posted recommending themselves using various email aliases.

We prefer prospective clients rely on an independent resource, like New Jersey Monthly Magazine's annual ranking of New Jersey's Top Realtors.
